Beginners' Birdwatching Day
Hazel Brow Farm, Swaledale
Lockdown taught us the benefits to body, mind and soul that come from tuning into birds. Getting started, however, can be daunting…
Which binoculars should you get? Which bird book is the best? Do you need special equipment or to visit certain places?
Let me demystify bird watching and give you the confidence you need to embark on a life-long passion!
I am amazed at the progress in confidence and independence my EYFS and KS1 children have made in just half a term of Forest School.

Testimonials
The children clearly loved their Forest School experience, many siting it as the highlight of their week. The children’s confidence grew throughout the weeks and they enjoyed taking ownership in the tasks and activities. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the experience, I learned lots too!

Our children have benefitted immensely from using ‘nature’s own classroom’. Their teamwork and problem solving skills have improved along with a greater understanding of their local environment. Their weekly enthusiastic feedback is a testament to this!

I wanted to say thank you for all the organising and expert tuition you have given this year. I know I'm relatively inexperienced but I have enjoyed the meetings, the social aspect and the activities immensely.

We have incorporated Forest Schools, seamlessly, into our curriculum through Kat’s hard work and excellent organisation. Kat liaised effectively with local landowners to find an appropriate site. She has diligently ensured all aspects of risk assessment, Health and Safety and relevant insurances were in place. Forest Schools has been a very positive experience for all our pupils and a super use of Sports Premium funding to boot.
